who we are

air duct cleaning new jersey

Advanced Furnace and Air Duct Cleaning was founded by August Spano in 1965.  August ran the business with one power vacuum truck and the help of his family. August spent his days visiting customer homes and developing business while his cousin, Jake Jacobism served as the technician performing the air duct cleanings. August and Jake ran the company together for 10 years until Jake left for another opportunity. At this time, August brought his son, Richard Spano, into the business and together they worked until August’s retirement in 1986. Richard took over the business upon his father’s retirement.  Richard started his journey as President of Advanced Air Duct with only one power vacuum truck and the help of his brother-in-law, Scott Ehrhardt along with one office employee.

Over the last 20 years, Advanced Air Duct cleaning has experienced its largest growth spurt standing as the largest air duct cleaning company in the state of New Jersey. It started 19 years ago, when Richard built the Companies building located on Route 9 in Bayville, NJ where it remains today. Currently, Advanced is staffed with 20 technicians including 6 certified National Air Duct Cleaning Association technicians and six office employees. The company now maintains 12 power vacuum trucks and has expanded with two new divisions; Commercial Hood Cleaning and Aeroseal. However, Advanced Air Duct remains a family-owned and operated business. It is also a woman-owned business with day-to-day operations currently run by Donna Spano, and her son William Spano overseeing field operations. While the business has grown significantly over the past 57 years, one thing remains a constant, family.

pOWER VACUUM TRUCKS

A power vacuum truck has 16,000 cfms of vacuum power, which is equivalent to a 300-mph wind. Why is this important?

  1. Less chance of dust/debris becoming airborne in your home during the duct cleaning process.
  2. All dust/debris within your ductwork is directly pushed to your main trunkline then directly to the power vacuum truck outside.
  3. There is no vacuum being carried/wheeled into your home to clean the duct work as a result protecting your home’s floors, walls, furniture, etc. and decreasing the chance of recontamination.
  4. The power vacuum truck along with our dislodging system is able to clean all types of ductwork without damaging your ductwork.

What does our competitor’s equipment look like in comparison from a vacuum power perspective?

The other types of duct cleaning equipment range in cfms from 100 to 4,500 maximum. A result of using less powerful equipment may lead to recontamination of your indoor air quality, not full removal of dirt, debris and other contaminants, a mess behind in your home, potential damage of floors, walls and other interior, and damage to your ductwork.

Therefore, when choosing an air duct cleaning company be sure to ask about the type of equipment utilized for the job and remember only a power vacuum truck has the capability to provide 16,000 cfms of power.
